Stuart Evans is an independent; writer, musician and session guitarist based in East Sussex. Calling on a wide variety of genres to influence his music, his writing style takes on many forms across a broad set of styles.
He has played with and plays for many fantastic local artists such as Sean Fennessey, Mike Willis, Georgie Collinson, The Paul Dunton Orchestra and countless other musicians along the way.
The main genres he leans towards are Indie and Folk, but takes in Country, Jazz, Funk, Blues and Soul elements into his playing, providing a new twist on old sounds.
Over the years Stuart Evans has tried and tested many different brands, but has come to choose some of the finest the industry has to offer, and they in turn have recognised him as an certified endorsee of their products
In the pursuit of a true, vintage acoustic tone, Stuart scoured the vintage guitar stores, boutique corner shops and 2nd hand dealers - only to stumble across Atkin Guitars in Canterbury, England; who make vintage replica guitars by hand to such exacting standards, some would say they are better than the originals themselves!
Stuart met the founder, Alister Atkin, over at his workshop; and after a lengthy discussion about the finer points of guitar making, the tonal process and what makes a fantastic acoustic guitar - Alister invited him up to the Birmingham Guitar Show as a demonstrator for Atkin Guitars, it was here they struck a friendship and so invited Stuart to be an endorsed artist for Atkin Guitars.
Since April 2019 Stuart Evans has been using Blackstars' Studio 10 6L6 model. Having tried and tested many other variants on small boutique valve combos, he settled on this powerhouse of an amp. Being endorsed by Blackstar means he is always on call for any demos or guitar shows they might need him on; and you will be seeing him play this amp on all of his electric gigs!
